IMPACT TO QANTAS SERVICES TODAY - VOLCANIC ASH IN EUROPE

16 April 2010

SYDNEY, 16 April 2010: Qantas services outbound from Australia to London Heathrow and Frankfurt are cancelled today.

Customers travelling on these services will be offered to be transferred to next scheduled services or a refund.

Next available services to Europe are not known at this time and cannot be confirmed until official notification from authorities in Europe on when flights can resume.

Passengers travelling to Singapore today will be offered a new service, QF8031 which is scheduled to operate Sydney-Melbourne-Singapore. This flight will depart Sydney International at 4.15 pm, Melbourne at 6.50 pm and arrive in Singapore at 12.35 am on 17 April.

Qantas will not be able to offer flights to UK or Europe, as on current estimations, airspace into Europe will not be open for at least another 24 hours.

Passengers wishing to travel Bangkok or Hong Kong today will be advised in due course. Qantas is currently assessing services to both ports. Further updates will be available on qantas.com throughout the day.

Services from the UK, QF2 and QF10 were cancelled yesterday from London. We are unable to confirm departure times for these services until we have further advice from European authorities.
