Europcar has opened a new 1m ($2) site on the Perimeter Road close to Heathrows Terminal 5.

Covering 3.4 acres (1.4 hectares), the company says it is the largest car rental location in Europe.

With a fleet of 4,500 vehicles, there are resources to handle up to 190,000 check-ins and check-outs a year, supporting customers from all brands in the Europcar UK Group including National Car Rental, Alamo Rent a Car and Guy Salmon Prestige Rental.

A courtesy coach fleet provides frequent service between all terminals, with a dedicated facility for T5.

Europcar aims to gain from any increased traffic to and from the airport, and investment has been made to ensure the right level of resource is available to support every aspect of the customer experience at the airport, with more staff on hand to support check-in and check-out, as well as dedicated check-out desks for corporate customers.
