Jetstar has launched an innovative new fare product on its domestic and international services that provides customers with the choice to travel with carry on baggage only at a lower fare price point.

JetSaver Light is now offered on Jetstar (JQ operated) flights across the domestic network and on International flights to Christchurch, Bali, Thailand, Ho Chi Minh City, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. At this stage, JetSaver Light fares will not be available on international services to Japan or the United States (Honolulu).

When a customer purchases a JetSaver Light fare for future travel on Jetstar, they will pay $10 less one way than the available JetSaver fare on a Jetstar domestic service and $20 less one way for an international sector such as Melbourne to Christchurch.

As a working example, if an available JetSaver fare on the Melbourne Avalon Sydney route is $79 one way, a JetSaver Light fare can be purchased for $69 one way. On Jetstars Sydney Christchurch route, a one way JetSaver fare at $219, would see Jetstar offer a JetSaver Light fare at $199 one way on the same flight.

The most popular normal JetSaver fare product remains and will continue to include a 20 kilogram free checked-in baggage allowance per paying passenger on domestic and international services. JetFlex, Jetstars fully flexible economy class, and StarClass fares also continue unchanged.

With continued commitment of offering more choice and every day low fares, Jetstar has increased the maximum weight for carry-on luggage, from an existing 7 kilograms to 10 kilograms per person for a standard size bag.

Existing customers with current JetSaver fare bookings cannot exchange their current booking to a JetSaver Light fare.
